KR&EC can assist with the biological portions of a formal Ecological Risk Assessment including documenting sensitive receptors such as wetlands and identifying the flora and fauna within the project area. Additionally, KR&EC has permits allowing for the collection of biological samples which can be used for testing of the uptake of the target components.
Ecological Risk Assessment
KR&EC has worked on the biological aspects of Ecological Risk Assessments determining sensitive plants and animals present on-site, sensitive receptors in the area, and the potential level of exposure.
Biological Sample Collections
We have permits from California Department of Fish and Game allowing for the collection of certain species of small mammals and amphibians to determine the potential up take of the chemicals in question. KR&EC can also assist with the collection of insects for additional biological sampling and uptake determination.
Point Count Surveys
Point count surveys for birds can be conducted during the spring and breeding season to determine the sensitive species or raptors that may be breeding in the area. Additionally, winter point counts can be conducted to determine the bird or raptor species that are "over wintering".
